A bout with breast cancer, the death of my mother and other health challenges left me unable to sleep or take a deep breath. My doctor recommended yoga as a path to recovery. As I moved into my practice, I began to experience the profound healing power of yoga. I reconnected with my breath and my deeper self. I released stored trauma and tension that I had been holding for years. Gradually, taking a deep breath and getting a good night’s sleep became easier.
I learned that the more I could stay present, let go, and allow things to move through me, the more I could heal and find inner peace. As layers of holding melted away, I began to feel lighter and freer. A heart- felt calling led me to enrol in a yoga-training program. I was able to deepen my practice and to begin to share what had so transformed my life.
Now, I cherish the opportunity to walk alongside others on their journey into yoga. It is a joy to help others embrace the practice of yoga as a way to tune
into their bodies’ innate wisdom, and to connect them to their deeper selves: revealing, awakening, healing, and growing. I especially love the power of pranayama as a way inward and as a means to uncover, release, and heal the stored, unprocessed ‘stuff’ of life.
I also share my journey and love of yoga and healthy living through writing, speaking, and soul-inspiring retreats.
